Well, as I write this almost another year has gone by in my life. Time sure does move. This year has definitely for me personally been a mixed bag of emotions. More joy than sadness is how I would describe it.
In a year which has seen lots of events happening across the globe & also in India, I am not going to describe what my opinions are about them. I am going to describe how my year has been, what I witnessed & give you readers a peek into how my year went.
My parents were looking for a 'Suitable Bride' for my elder brother Varun for few months since he was old enough to get married. So the process of the finding the bride started with my parents busy trying to find the right alliance for him. They even created a profile of his in Bharat Matrimony.com & started scouting for the bride there.
Despite many candidates(prospective brides) impressing them , Varun refused to take those forward. He always had some issues or the other with them. But what ensued a couple of weeks later felt like it was straight out of the movies. As Varun calls my parents & tells them that they don't need to find a bride for him as he has already found 'The Girl" he wants to marry!! And he clearly specified that it was his final decision & not one he was willing to go back on!!
That's how the beginning of the year started for me. Getting to know that my brother was going to get married! That definitely was exciting news. Once both the parents met each other & got familiarized with each other, the marriage date was fixed. It was to happen exactly a month or so after Varun dropped the bombshell that he wants to get married to the person who know is more like the sister I never had before in my life , Charanya!
The period before the marriage was completely mad with all the arrangements within a span of one month. To add to the mayhem was the weather. It was so hot in May & we all were busy literally sweating it out in order to make sure the wedding goes smoothly without any issues.
And I must admit having been part of the team who organized the event with other relatives, cousins it gives immense satisfaction when I hear from others as how they enjoyed the marriage & reception especially with regards to the choice of venue, location, the food & the hospitality they got while attending the marriage!
So friends the first half of this year ended with me becoming a Brothe-In-Law!! And I must admit it feels really good as it has added responsibilities attached to it along with making sure that my behavior, what I do whether it be personally or professionally doesn't impact them directly.
It's always good to have an elder sister at home. As the bond is more deep & more caring than say two brothers. With Charanya coming into my life she has almost taken it on herself to transform me into a much better, efficient, self-sufficient person who can stand on his own legs, feel personally & professionally content. It is an ongoing endeavor of hers where she keeps pushing me to do things I don't usually do & I know that with her right intentions, I will live up to the expectations she has of me in the near future.
She is a strong, caring, emotional person whose child like behavior can light up any person's day. She has the quality to connect with people of all ages. She can start any conversation with a person she hasn't met before & talk to then freely for a while.( A quality not many possess).
Her positive outlook to life is something which everybody needs to learn from. Whatever may be the situation she finds herself in she approaches it from a positive frame of mind. It is this very quality which has defined her so far & will define her life in the months & years to come. And I hope she stays the same way throughout her life!!
Another big positive development which happened is the drive & passion I have for writing intensified with the push of my family members. And as I am writing this it is my 40th blog post(35th this year). Writing blogs gives me an outlet to express myself completely.
It started off with writing reviews of movies or reports of Cricket matches to the stage at the end of this year where I wrote my first book- review of my life which will give me first earnings as a blogger!!
Along the way I have entered into various blogging communities, websites to expand my blogging network & reach. And more importantly the passion to write better & better is again a result of my brother & sister-in law as they saw a spark in my writing.
They felt I have the writing skills to write about varied topics which can engage the readers. Their push is instrumental in me exploring myself as a writer & also is the main reason for me to venture into new avenues & take up new challenges as a writer. It gives me some personal pressure to keep improving my writing so that I can live up to their expectations.
Coming to my professional life I left a job which gave me the opportunity to work with some really nice, friendly helpful people along with the frustration & irritation that the work as such gave me. it was completely devoid of any creativity. It had almost reached a point where it was a case of leave your brains at home before coming to work. So despite enjoying my first stint in the corporate set-up , I left that job recently.
Now I have moved on to a new job which values creativity. The need is to provide new ideas, thoughts, solutions & strategies. it will be challenging & exciting but it's a challenge I am surely looking forward to. I want to prove myself in the corporate world & I am optimistic that this job will allow me to get creative satisfaction, job satisfaction along with getting recognition.
I hope in the next year I can live up to the expectations of others, inch much closer to fulfilling my dreams. I have made small positive steps in that direction already in this year & I sure the next year I can make giant steps in fulfilling them!!
